¿Qué es PiDome?

Continuando con las iniciativas IoT dentro del mundo Java (el otro día hablábamos de Open IoT Stack for Java y ya hemos dedicado varios posts a Sofia2, otra plataforma IoT implementada en Java) hoy vamos a comentar algo sobre PiDome:

El proyecto PiDome Home Automation/Domotica ofrece un entorno de Home Automation para el Raspberry Pi y para usuarios del tipo desarrolladores, usuarios finales, aficionados,…

Para usuarios finales PiDome ofrece un entorno controlador en el que se puede conectar cada componente y dispositivo y para desarrolladores ofrece un API para programar el HW en Java o usar un editor para crear dispositivos.

Entre algunas de sus principales características tenemos:

· Definición de triggers: If this then that:

· Macros: Run multiple commands at the same time,

· Control your media devices (XBMC)

· Creación de controles remotos (infrarrojos)

· Cliente Android

· Cliente Raspberry Pi

· Soporte para I2C

· Broker MQTT que publica datos de los dispositivos

· Editor/Visor de edificios 3D

Y de plantas:

· Detección dispositivos USB

· Event Triggers: para detector presencia, si estoy dormido,…

· Conexiones seguras entre cliente y servidor.

· …

PiDome lo componen 3 subpaquetes:

· Server: corazón del sistema que controla todo

· Client: extiende al Server y está pensado para correr en otra ubicación

· Hardware: diseñado para comunicar con el Server

PiDome aún está en estado Alpha, aunque su equipo está trabajando muy duro (verdad John? 🙂 ) para incluir más características. En el momento de la Beta se finalizará el manual de usuario y resto de documentación.

Mucho ánimo John, espero de verdad que PiDome tenga un gran presente y futuro!!!

    Hi, I’m John from the PiDome project. Yes it is true that documentation is quite obsolete at this moment and the installation procedure should be easier, but we currently are developing as much features as possible to have a good and sturdy base and every free second has been put/will be put in the project. When we reach Beta we will be beginning writing the final user manual and API documentations.

    It currently is for example supporting philips hue and custom build sensors like mysensors where you can define your own custom devices in the server. And more will be added very soon.

      Hi John, I undertand yoy perfectly, , I´m the technical manager of the IoT Platform Sofia2 (http://sofia2.com) and we have suffered the same problems.
      Anyway I think PiDome is a very interesting platform and we will try and analyze it :).

        If you could keep your responses also in alpha ;). The current availability is purely to get input as early as possible and to start to think out of the box. That’s looking good and quite mature (watched from mobile). I also did see a java API. Is the platform suitable to be usable for input from solutions like automation systems?

    Je,je! I think is almost possible, I have edited the post!.
    Yes, Sofia2 has APIS en some languages (Java, Javascript, Node.js, Android,…). Sofia2 focuses on the integration of information from different «things» (devices, systems, OpenData, smartphones,…) with the capability of consume and apply rules on that information.
    I´ll be happy to integrate PiDome and Sofia2 🙂

    I have take a closer look and I can not make any promises at this moment, because I’m extremely busy at the moment and need to finish a lot of simultaneous projects. When there is time i will certainly take a look into the possibilities!
